Sustainable e-commerce in Romania
Recently had an interview about sustainable e-commerce in Romania. I believe there are a number of ways to be mindful about the environment.
According to a 2017 study done in Romania by the The Bucharest University of Economic Studies, e-commerce has a lower carbon footprint than traditional retail.
The at-hand measure that you can implement is around packaging and recycled materials.
In terms of logistics — the use of green energy from powering the energy efficient warehouse (solar or wind energy) to eco-friendly shipping methods (delivery by electric cars, pick-up points).
Circular economy — refurbished products, make sure you have a system in place that implements circular economy, reuse and repair.
In terms of marketing, make sure that you promote your actions related to sustainable e-commerce business.
Educate your customers about the importance of sustainability and how they can help by shopping with you.
Offer discounts or other incentives to customers who purchase eco-friendly products from your store.
Make sustainability a part of your brand identity and include it in your marketing and advertising materials.
Give back to the environment by planting trees or donating to other green causes for every purchase made from your store.
Advocate for sustainable policies at the local, state, and national level to help create a more sustainable future for all.
If you have other items that can be added to the list, feel free to drop a comment.
